The BCM4323 is the world’s first single-chip 802.11n solution for universal serial bus (USB) adapters. The newest member of Broadcom’s Intensi-fi wireless LAN (WLAN) family enables very small and cost-effective USB adapters that consumers can use to connect PCs, TVs, set-top boxes, personal video recorders, and other devices to a Wi-Fi™ network. As a result of this unprecedented integration, the new Intensi-fi solution enables smaller, more cost-effective USB adapters that can be used to add high-performance wireless connectivity to devices without built-in Wi-Fi.

Broadcom today announced the industry’s most advanced 65 nanometer (nm) real-time, high definition (HD) encoder/transcoder solution. The new single- chip transcoder BCM7043 enables a wide range of consumer devices, with varying video and audio formats, to share a wide variety of video and audio content while maintaining a high degree of digital rights management and security. The new chip BCM7043 is the foundation for capturing audio and video content and for reconciling disparate video and audio content in cable, satellite and IPTV set-top boxes, home media centers, portable media players, cell phones and a wide range of entertainment devices for the connected home.

The BCM7043 is a real-time high definition H.264/AVC, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4SP encoder and transcoder that is designed for use in cable, satellite, IP and terrestrial set-top boxes, home media centers, personal digital video recorders and HD DVD, Blu-ray, and DVD player/recorders.
