A CHANCE FOR YOUNG DRIVERS TO GET CLOSER TO THE CATEGORY

The Euroseries 3000 organizers have scheduled a “low cost” test on November 27th and 28th

It is called “F.3000 EXPERIENCE” and it will take place in Magione on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th November. This two-day test will be the occasion for about 40 young drivers to have a first experience at the wheel of the Lola B02/50 cars which will be made available by the current Euroseries 3000 teams, without excluding the possibility that some new teams will already enter the Series from this event.

The test will be divided into 4 half-day turns in which drivers eager to take a first contact with the powerful F.3000 cars will have the opportunity to do so at a convenient price (6000 euro), which also includes a new set of tires.

Moreover the fastest drivers of each turn will be given the chance to test the 2008 car that will be running as well in Magione, while the fastest overall driver of the two days will be offered free entry and free tires for the F.3000 race that will open as usual the Bologna Motorshow (December 7th).

Meanwhile the Euroseries 3000 will be in Barcelona on the 9th, 10th and 11th November for the last round of the season and in the same occasion the 2008 car will be unveiled, together with the future plans for the category.

First turn crucial - Nunes, Martini and Andersen immediately out

Davide Rigon (Minardi/GP Racing) is European and Italian F.3000 champion. The driver took the double title in
Monza Race-1.

Davide Rigon (Minardi/GP Racing): ” My start has been perfect. But also my team-mate Nunes has gone off well in the first metres. Then I was able to overtake him and I arrived with blocked wheels in the first chicane, damaging a tyre. Nunes has delayed the braking a lot thus blocking the wheels and therefore behind him there’s been hell. I have had some difficulties in the left turns when I had to brake, fortunately the car was perfectly balanced and so I have been able to win and gain the double title. For this I thank my whole team.”

Giacomo Ricci (Elk Motorsport): ” Compared to the practices during the race the car was much better . During the first day we were far from the best ones, nonetheless the team has done a wonderful job reducing the gap with the Minardi drivers. Starting sixth and finishing second: that’s a nice result”.

Luiz Razia:” Today my Lola went particularly fast. I have started well, then I have passed unharmed the bagarre in the first chicane. Very soon I could overtake Arabadzhiev, thus reaching the third place which I have kept till the end”.

Elk Motorsport on the podium thanks to Ricci and Cecotto Jr.
Grand Finale in Barcelona on November 11th

Davide Rigon (Minardi/GP Racing): “I had a great start, but Ricci’s was better. But I was clearly faster than him and soon I managed to overtake him. I thank once again the Minardi team: a perfect car, which also allowed me to get the fastest lap.”

Giacomo Ricci (Elk Motorsport): “The car improved consistently throughout the weekend, but I were loosing too much time on the straight comparing to Rigon. Now I hope to be able to race also in the last event in Barcelona.”

Johnny Cecotto jr (Elk Motorsport): “After the problems in Race 1, when I damaged a tyre, today things went much better. I improved from the eighth to the fourth place, then Razia had a problem and I overtook him, racing alone in the last part of the race.”
